The Event

Are you ready to put your blockchain hacking skills to the test? This time it’s TEAL smart contracts deployed on the Algorand blockchain you need to hack. We prepared two challenges for this hackathon: one for Beginners, with a smaller price, and a second challenge for the more advanced. The prize pool stands at $2,000.

The competition kicks off on October 31 2022 3:00 PM UTC and runs through November 3 2022 3:00 PM UTC. At that moment, instructions and two smart contracts (challenges) will be deployed.

Instructions

Registration is now open! Two contract addresses will be deployed by October 31 2022, 3 PM UTC: a beginner’s level address and an advanced level address. Contracts will be deployed in the Algorand TestNet so user transactions have no cost. A free dispenser is available from Algorand. The contract addresses will be announced on this website by October 31 2022, 3 PM UTC. The contest closes on November 2 2022 3 PM. After that time, transactions on any future block will not be considered valid.

A registered user who sends a valid transaction, not reverted, wins. The first two winners of the advanced-level CTF get the equivalent to USD 600 (roughly 1800 ALGOs). The first ten registered users that win the beginner-level CTF will receive the equivalent of USD 80 (roughly 240 ALGO). After the contest ends, the contest organizers will check the Algorand blockchain and publish winners. Prices will be transferred after the event is finished.

If the winning transaction (for any of the challenges) does not come from the registered user’s address, then the transaction must include the address used by the user during registration so that winners can be identified.
